4th of July

We were still in Pennsylvania for the 4th of July. My parents’ retirement community had a cookout complete with hot dogs, hamburgers, bbq chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob, fresh fruit, cookies, pie and ice cream! It was blazing hot – like 100° and very humid – but the food and conversation were good. My sister and niece drove up for the cookout, too, which added to the fun. I dressed Coco up in a cute white dress that she has almost outgrown. Oh, a little brown girl in a crisp, white dress. Love it! 🙂

Before we ate though Coco had fun racing one of the residents on his scooter. I actually heard her say to him, “Race ya!” and off she went. After she smoked him 🙂 she chatted him up as he walked to his apartment, held the door for him and said good-bye.

Then we headed down to the cookout to get some food. Mmmm, don’t you just love a cookout? It’s so 4th of July. So all-American. Perfect for the holiday for us expats.

After the cookout Coco blew bubbles, watered the plants, searched for bugs, ran barefoot in the grass and danced. Perfect summer fun.

Later, while most of us were still donned in red, white and blue we went to get some Mexican food. See the “Steeler Country” banner in the background? Yup, definitely home.

Fun times with family!
