Zoobic in Subic

IMG_6427A few weekends ago I thought it would be fun to go to Subic to visit the zoo, cleverly called Zoobic. My friend V accompanied us along with Coco’s yaya. Subic is supposed to be about 2 hours north of Manila on the NLEX (North Luzon Expressway) though you never know with traffic. It’s a decent highway if you know where you are going but don’t make a wrong turn or try to guess which exit you need cause you will surely get lost. Things just aren’t clearly marked! Our two hour trip turned into almost four! Grrr. By the time we got there we were tired and hungry and cranky. We found a Korean restaurant near our hotel and sat on the floor for our meal. Coco brought along Izzy, her classroom iguana mascot who goes home with a different child every weekend. What a fun weekend for Izzy to spend with Coco! He loved the zoo. 🙂

The first thing we did when we arrived was go on a tour. Coco loved feeding the birds. She really was enjoying it, she just frowns when she’s concentrating on things. Those birds were so small and so cute and were scattered all over the ground. It was hard not to step on them but they warned us that it would be a 500 peso charge if we did! The birds flocked to Coco and ate right out of her hand. One landed on my foot and pecked at my shoe. LOL IMG_6438IMG_6444 IMG_6440  IMG_6442  IMG_6445  Then we took a ride to see more animals. Here we are waiting for it to start:IMG_6466IMG_6449 IMG_6457 IMG_6464Later we went on a safari ride. It lasted all of about 5 minutes (lame) but in that 5 minutes we saw some tigers. You could feed them chicken through the window which is what you see happening in one photo. We opted to not do that. I don’t want sharp tiger teeth so close to me and my baby! We were watching it lick it’s lips when it jumped on the vehicle in front of us! That was pretty funny. Waiting for our safari..IMG_6486IMG_6482IMG_6483IMG_6484IMG_6433 IMG_6447 IMG_6453 IMG_6459 IMG_6471 IMG_6478 IMG_6465 IMG_6487

It was worth the trip. Long, hot, and very tiring but she had fun. And so did we. 🙂
